Ford Recalls Escape and Bronco Sport Models Due to Fuel Injector Fire Risk
Ford is recalling specific 2022-2023 Escape and Bronco Sport vehicles with 1.5 L EcoBoost engines due to potential fuel injector cracks that can cause engine fires.
What Happened
Transport Canada has issued a recall for certain Ford vehicles equipped with a 1.5 L EcoBoost engine. On these vehicles, a fuel injector may crack, allowing fuel to leak into the engine compartment. This recall (no. 2024160) is an expansion of a previous recall (2022-658) and has since been replaced by Transport Canada recall no. 2025-376.

What You Should Do
Ford will notify affected owners by mail. Owners are advised to take their vehicle to a dealership to have the engine control software updated to detect fuel injector leaks. Additionally, dealers will install a drain tube. Ford is also providing an extended warranty of 15 years or 240,000 km specifically for the replacement of cracked injectors.
