The warning specifically covers Highway 93 from Lake Louise to the Saskatchewan River Crossing. Impacted areas include high-elevation sections of the Icefields Parkway, such as Sunwapta Pass and Bow Summit.

The highest elevation areas south of Saskatchewan River Crossing, including Bow Summit, could see total accumulations reaching close to 50 cm for the week. These conditions will likely lead to reduced visibility and difficult driving conditions.
Timeline
The alert is effective immediately and remains in place through Friday evening. Snow is expected to taper off to flurries on Saturday.
