Snow Squall Watch Issued for B.C. South and North Peace River Districts

Environment Canada has issued a yellow snow squall watch for the Peace River region. This alert indicates that brief, intense snowfall is expected to develop as a strong frontal system passes over the area. The alert was issued by the national weather agency to warn of rapidly deteriorating conditions.

The watch specifically covers the B.C. South Peace River District and southern portions of the B.C. North Peace River. While the most intense conditions are expected for communities along the Rockies, strong wind gusts are also possible near Dawson Creek.

As the system moves through, winds will shift to a northerly direction throughout the day, bringing a transition to colder air.
