Snowfall Warning Issued for Uxbridge, Beaverton, and Northern Durham Region

Environment Canada has issued a yellow snowfall warning for the region. The alert is currently in effect as snow continues to fall across the area.
Affected Areas
The warning specifically covers Uxbridge, Beaverton, and the Northern Durham Region. Impact is expected to be highest inland from Lake Ontario and over higher elevations, such as the Oak Ridges Moraine. Lesser snowfall amounts are anticipated near the Lake Ontario shoreline where warmer temperatures may result in longer periods of rain.

Residents are advised to monitor updated alerts and forecasts. Travel is expected to be challenging, and visibility may be reduced at times. Expected Conditions
Total snowfall accumulations are expected to reach near 15 cm in some locations. Snowfall rates may reach 2 to 4 cm per hour at times. While snow may be mixed with rain initially, it is expected to taper to flurries tonight.
Significant impacts are expected on major transportation routes. Highways 400, 404, 407, and 115 are likely to be the most affected by hazardous conditions. A return to winter driving conditions is also forecast for Highways 401 and 2.
