Environment Canada has issued a yellow snowfall warning for the South Coast region. The alert is currently in effect as a Pacific storm approaches the area.

The warning specifically covers Whistler and the Sea to Sky Highway north of Squamish.
Expected Conditions
Total snowfall accumulations are expected to reach between 10 and 20 cm. An incoming Pacific storm is bringing heavy precipitation to the South Coast. Due to low freezing levels, this precipitation will fall as snow in the affected high-elevation areas. Residents and travelers should expect reduced visibility at times and difficult navigation on roads and walkways due to the accumulating snow.
Timeline
Light snow is forecast to begin Wednesday morning. Snowfall rates are expected to intensify on Wednesday afternoon and will persist through Wednesday night. Total accumulation is projected to be complete by early Thursday morning.
