A cool and unstable airmass moving over the South Coast is expected to bring freezing levels down to near sea level by Tuesday morning. Combined with an approaching trough of low pressure, this system will produce bands of flurries or showers. Due to the convective nature of the precipitation, snowfall accumulations will be highly variable across the region. While snow may reach sea level, accumulating snowfall is more likely at higher elevations, with current forecasts indicating a potential for 2 to 5 cm of snow.
