Environment Canada has issued a yellow winter storm warning for the B.C. South Coast. This alert is triggered by a prolonged atmospheric river event that is expected to bring heavy rain on top of existing snowpack.

The atmospheric river will maintain freezing levels near 2,200 metres. Total rainfall amounts are expected to reach between 60 and 80 mm. The combination of heavy rain and melting mountain snow is likely to cause significant responses in river systems, increasing the potential for flooding. Extensive water pooling on roads and washouts are possible hazards.
Timeline
The most intense rainfall is expected from Monday through Wednesday morning. While the heavy rain is forecast to ease on Wednesday, periods of moderate rain will continue through Friday.
