Flood Warning Issued for Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, and Perry Counties in Southeast Missouri
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for parts of southeast Missouri following reports of up to 5 inches of rain and flooded roadways.

The National Weather Service in Paducah, KY, has issued a Flood Warning for portions of southeast Missouri. The alert was triggered by reports from emergency management of flooded roads resulting from heavy thunderstorms.
Affected Areas
The warning covers the following counties in southeast Missouri:
- Bollinger County
- Cape Girardeau County
- Perry County
Specific locations expected to experience flooding include Perryville, Alliance, Daisy, Patton, Oak Ridge, Sedgewickville, Longtown, Old Appleton, and Silver Lake.
What You Should Do
Residents are urged to follow the safety mantra: “Turn around, don’t drown.” Most flood-related deaths occur in vehicles. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads or low-water crossings, which are particularly dangerous in hilly terrain. If you encounter a flooded path, find an alternate route immediately.
Expected Conditions
Excessive rainfall has already led to imminent or occurring flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and low-lying areas. According to the NWS, between 2.5 and 5 inches of rain have already fallen in the region. While no additional rainfall is currently expected, the impacts of the existing accumulation will continue to cause hazardous conditions and inundate low-water crossings.

The Flood Warning is effective as of 8:51 AM CST on March 5, 2026, and is scheduled to remain in effect until 11:00 AM CST this morning.
