Excessive rainfall has led to imminent or occurring flooding of creeks, streams, and low-lying areas. As of 7:53 AM EST, the river gauge on the Tygart Valley River at Mill Creek recorded a level of 11.9 feet, surpassing the minor flood stage of 11 feet. The river is projected to rise to just over 12 feet this morning. At these stages, low spots along County Road 39 are known to flood, and small local creeks may contribute to additional flooding in low-lying areas.
