The warning specifically covers the Scioto River at Piketon, impacting Pike and Scioto counties in Ohio. Within southern Pike County, Scioto and Camp Creek Townships are expected to be the most impacted areas.

Minor flooding is anticipated as the river rises. As of 2:00 PM EST on Thursday, the river stage was measured at 17.7 feet. The flood stage is established at 20.0 feet. The river is forecast to reach a crest of 20.6 feet. At these levels, impacts may include flooding on Ohio Route 220 at River Road south of Waverly and several county roads near the river and its connecting creeks.

The river is expected to rise above flood stage late Thursday evening, March 5, around 9:34 PM EST. It is projected to reach its crest early Friday afternoon. The water levels are expected to fall below flood stage early Sunday morning, March 8, at approximately 7:00 AM EST.
