The National Weather Service (NWS) Anchorage AK has issued a Heavy Freezing Spray Warning for the coastal waters of the Northern Gulf of Alaska. This alert is in addition to a Gale Warning currently in effect for the region.
Affected Areas
The warning covers Chiniak Bay and the Northern Gulf of Alaska Coast up to 100 nautical miles out. This includes the waters surrounding Kodiak Island and Cook Inlet.

Expected Conditions
Weather conditions in the affected coastal waters are forecast as follows:
- Wind: Northwest winds at 35 knots tonight, increasing to 45 knots on Wednesday. Winds will remain at 35 knots Wednesday night before subsiding to 30 knots on Thursday.
- Seas: Average wave heights of 5 to 6 feet are expected through Wednesday night.
- Hazard: Heavy freezing spray is expected to develop Wednesday and continue through Wednesday night.
