A High Wind Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Denver, Colorado. The alert is effective starting at 10:00 PM MDT on Saturday, March 14, and is scheduled to remain in place until 3:00 PM MDT on Sunday, March 15.
Affected Areas
The warning covers a broad region of east central and northeast Colorado. Specific areas include:
- Denver Metro: Denver, West Adams and Arapahoe Counties, and East Broomfield County.
- Northern Front Range & Plains: Central and South Weld County (including Greeley), Northeast Weld County, and Morgan County.
- Palmer Divide: North Douglas County below 6000 feet, and Elbert/Central and East Douglas Counties above 6000 feet.
- Eastern Plains: Logan, Washington, Sedgwick, and Phillips Counties, as well as North and South Lincoln County and North/Northeast/Southeast Elbert County below 6000 feet.
Expected Conditions
Residents should prepare for sustained northwest winds of 25 to 35 mph. Wind gusts are expected to reach up to 65 mph. These intense winds may cause blowing dust, which could reduce visibility to less than one mile in certain locations.
