High Wind Warning Issued for North Central and Northwest Missouri; Gusts Up to 60 MPH Expected
The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for several Missouri counties, effective Sunday afternoon through Monday morning, with gusts reaching 60 mph.

The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO has issued a High Wind Warning (HWW) for portions of north central, northeast, and northwest Missouri. This alert will be followed by a Wind Advisory as conditions transition.

The following Missouri counties are included in the warning area:
- Worth
- Gentry
- Harrison
- Mercer
- Putnam
- Schuyler
- De Kalb
- Daviess
- Grundy
- Sullivan
- Adair
What You Should Do
Residents are advised to remain in the lower levels of their homes during the windstorm and stay away from windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. If travel is necessary, use extreme caution, particularly if operating a high-profile vehicle. Ensure all outdoor objects are secured to prevent them from being blown away.
Expected Conditions
During the High Wind Warning period, northwest winds of 25 to 35 mph are expected, with gusts reaching up to 60 mph. These damaging winds are likely to blow down trees and power lines, and widespread power outages are expected. In addition to the wind, falling and blowing snow could result in periods of significantly reduced visibility.
During the subsequent Wind Advisory, northwest winds will decrease slightly to 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph still possible.

- High Wind Warning: In effect from 1:00 PM Sunday to 4:00 AM CDT Monday.
- Wind Advisory: In effect from 4:00 AM to noon CDT Monday.
