The warning covers the following geographic regions:
- Southwestern Illinois: Central Calhoun County
- East Central Missouri: Eastern Lincoln County
Specific locations impacted include Moscow Mills, Fountain N’ Lakes, New Hope, Elsberry, Winfield, Foley, Hamburg, Batchtown, Beechville, Meppen, Hardin, and Michael. This warning also includes Cuivre River State Park and Pere Marquette State Park.

Residents in the warning area should seek shelter inside a well-built structure immediately and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds. Because tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms, the NWS recommends moving to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.
