A severe thunderstorm capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail is moving through parts of Louisiana and Mississippi, including Vicksburg and Tallulah.

The National Weather Service in Jackson, MS, has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for portions of northeastern Louisiana and central/west central Mississippi. The warning is in effect until 10:30 PM CDT on March 15, 2026.
Affected Areas
The warning covers the following regions:
- Louisiana: Southeastern East Carroll Parish, North central Tensas Parish, and Central Madison Parish.
- Mississippi: Warren County, Northeastern Claiborne County, Western Hinds County, and Southern Issaquena County.
Specific locations in the path of the storm include Tallulah and Afton (9:40 PM), Mound (9:45 PM), Vicksburg (9:50 PM), Bovina (10:00 PM), Redwood and Flowers (10:05 PM), and Edwards, Oak Ridge, and Youngton (10:10 PM). Other impacted areas include Delta and Richmond.

For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building immediately. Residents should remain indoors until the storm has passed to avoid hazards from falling trees, flying debris, or hail.

At 9:32 PM CDT, radar indicated a severe thunderstorm located 7 miles south of Tendal (approximately 9 miles southwest of Tallulah), moving east at 55 mph.
- Wind: Gusts up to 60 mph are expected, which may cause damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
- Hail: Quarter-size hail is possible, which can cause damage to vehicles.
