The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for portions of southwestern Pennsylvania and the northern panhandle of West Virginia. The warning was triggered by radar-indicated severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds.

The following regions are included in the warning area:
- Pennsylvania: Northern Allegheny County, Northwestern Washington County, Northwestern Westmoreland County, and Southeastern Beaver County.
- West Virginia: Brooke County.
Specific locations impacted include Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Ross Township, McCandless Township, Moon Township, Weirton, Franklin Park, Shaler Township, Plum, North Side Pittsburgh, Hampton Township, Scott Township, Wilkinsburg, Robinson Township, New Kensington, Lower Burrell, and Harrison Township.

Residents in the affected path should seek shelter immediately inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds. Additionally, because tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms, the NWS recommends seeking shelter in an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. A Tornado Watch also remains in effect until 5:00 PM EDT for the northern panhandle of West Virginia.
