The warning specifically covers the following geographic regions:
- Eastern Wheeler County in the Panhandle of Texas
- Northeastern Collingsworth County in the Panhandle of Texas
As of 10:10 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles southwest of Texola, or 9 miles southeast of Shamrock, moving northeast at 25 mph. The storm is expected to remain primarily over rural areas of these counties.

For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Move indoors immediately to avoid large hail and continuous cloud-to-ground lightning. Lightning is a leading killer; if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck. Additionally, torrential rainfall is occurring and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
