The warning specifically impacts the following geographic locations:
- Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Maurepas
- The Mid Point Of The Causeway Bridge
- Manchac
- Mandeville

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately and remain there until the storm passes. If caught on open water, stay below deck if possible and keep away from ungrounded metal objects to avoid lightning strikes. You are encouraged to report severe weather to the Coast Guard or the National Weather Service. Note that a Tornado Watch also remains in effect for southeastern Louisiana until 4:00 AM CDT.

- Waves: Suddenly higher waves capable of capsizing small craft.
