The National Weather Service in Honolulu HI has issued a Special Marine Warning for the Kauai Northwest and Leeward Waters. This alert was issued at 11:18 PM HST on March 14 and remains in effect until 1:15 AM HST on March 15.

The warning covers the Kauai Northwest Waters and Kauai Leeward Waters. Specific locations expected to be impacted include Lehua Rock, FAD Buoy KK, the Southern Tip of Niihau, and Kikiaola Harbor.

Mariners and residents in the affected areas should prepare for hazardous conditions including gusty winds, steep and fast-building seas, and blinding downpours.
