The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a Tornado Warning for parts of southwestern Alabama. The alert is effective from 11:40 PM CDT on Wednesday, March 11, until 12:30 AM CDT on Thursday, March 12.

The warning covers the following geographic regions:
- Northern Mobile County in southwestern Alabama
- Southeastern Washington County in southwestern Alabama
Specific communities in the path of these storms include Citronelle, Gulfcrest, Calvert, Mount Vernon, Movico, and Axis.
What You Should Do
TAKE COVER NOW! Residents in the warning area should move immediately to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Stay away from windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
Expected Conditions
At 11:40 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing a tornado were located along a line extending from 4 miles south of Deer Park to 8 miles west of Gulfcrest, moving east at 40 mph.
- Hazard: Tornado and hail up to .75 inches.
- Source: Radar indicated rotation.
- Impact: Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur, and tree damage is likely.
