The National Weather Service in Green Bay has issued a Winter Storm Warning followed by a Blizzard Warning for portions of central Wisconsin. These alerts signify a severe weather event with significant snow accumulation and dangerous wind conditions expected over the coming days.

• Portage
• Waupaca
• Waushara

Expected Conditions

Heavy snow is expected throughout the region, with total snow and sleet accumulations forecast between 13 and 22 inches. The lowest snow totals are anticipated toward Wautoma.

In addition to the snow, conditions are expected to include:

• Ice Accumulation: Between one and two tenths of an inch as snow mixes with or changes to sleet and freezing rain late tonight through Sunday morning.
• Wind: Gusts as high as 45 mph.
• Visibility: Considerable blowing and drifting snow will result in blizzard conditions and whiteouts.
