Winter Storm and Blizzard Warnings Issued for Central Wisconsin Through Monday
NWS Green Bay has issued warnings for Wood, Portage, Waupaca, and Waushara counties, forecasting up to 22 inches of snow, ice accumulation, and blizzard conditions.

The National Weather Service in Green Bay has issued a Winter Storm Warning followed by a Blizzard Warning for portions of central Wisconsin. These alerts signify a severe weather event with significant snow accumulation and dangerous wind conditions expected over the coming days.

The following Wisconsin counties are under these warnings:
- Wood
- Portage
- Waupaca
- Waushara
Expected Conditions
Heavy snow is expected throughout the region, with total snow and sleet accumulations forecast between 13 and 22 inches. The lowest snow totals are anticipated toward Wautoma.
In addition to the snow, conditions are expected to include:
- Ice Accumulation: Between one and two tenths of an inch as snow mixes with or changes to sleet and freezing rain late tonight through Sunday morning.
- Wind: Gusts as high as 45 mph.
- Visibility: Considerable blowing and drifting snow will result in blizzard conditions and whiteouts.
- Infrastructure: Gusty winds may bring down tree branches and cause power outages.

- Winter Storm Warning: In effect until 10:00 AM CDT Sunday, March 15.
- Blizzard Warning: In effect from 10:00 AM Sunday, March 15, until 4:00 PM CDT Monday, March 16.
- Commute Impact: Officials warn that the Monday morning commute will be severely impacted.

Residents are urged to consider delaying all travel. Travel will become very difficult to impossible due to whiteout conditions. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution and maintain a winter storm kit in your vehicle containing:
- Tire chains and booster cables
- Flashlight, shovel, and blankets
- Extra clothing, food, and water
- A first aid kit
