The alert was issued at 10:27 am AEST on Friday, February 20, 2026, following rapid river level rises caused by heavy rainfall earlier that morning. This is the second flood warning issued for this event.

The warning covers the Bohle and Black River catchments in Queensland. Specific geographic points and river monitoring stations include:
- Bohle River: Mt Bohle and Dalrymple Road.
- Little Bohle River: Gumlow Road.
- Black River: Areas upstream of the Bruce Highway.
- Bluewater Creek: Bluewater region.
- Ross River: Monitoring at Ross River Dam, Black Weir (Riverway), Aplin Weir, and Rooney’s Bridge.

Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to continue over the next few days, which may lead to further river level rises.
