Frigidaire Gas Ranges Recalled Due to Serious Burn Hazard
Electrolux Group has recalled approximately 180,000 Frigidaire gas ranges in North America following reports of delayed oven ignition and 31 injuries.
What Happened
Electrolux Consumer Products, Inc. has issued a recall for several models of Frigidaire gas ranges due to a technical defect. The ovens in these ranges can experience a delayed ignition of the bake burner, which creates a potential risk of burns to consumers. As of March 11, 2026, the company has received 59 reports of incidents in the United States, including 30 injuries, and three reports in Canada, including one injury.
Which Products Are Affected
This recall involves certain Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery, and Frigidaire Professional Gas Ranges. The affected products were sold between approximately June 2025 and January 2026.
In total, approximately 180,118 units are affected:
- United States: Approximately 174,800 units sold.
- Canada: Approximately 5,318 units sold.
The products were manufactured in the United States by Electrolux Consumer Products, Inc., based in Springfield, Tennessee.
What You Should Do
Consumers should immediately stop using the ovens in the recalled gas ranges. However, the company has stated that consumers can continue to use the cooktop burners safely.
To resolve the issue, owners should contact Electrolux Group to arrange for a free professional in-home installation of a new bake burner. Consumers can reach the company through the following channels:
- Telephone: 1-866-291-7629, between 8:30 am and 8:00 pm ET, Monday through Friday (excluding statutory holidays).
- Email: gasovenburnerrecall@electrolux.com
- Website: Visit the official Electrolux Group website for further details.
Why This Matters
This recall is significant due to the high number of reported injuries—31 in total—associated with the delayed ignition hazard. In Canada, the Consumer Product Safety Act strictly prohibits the redistribution, sale, or donation of recalled products.
