Tiffin Motorhomes Recalls 2025-2026 GT1, GH1, and GH2 Models for Incorrect Seating Labels
Tiffin Motorhomes is recalling 340 vehicles because Cargo Carrying Capacity labels incorrectly list seat belt positions, potentially leading to unbelted passengers and injury risks.
What Happened
Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling specific motorhome models due to a labeling error that misidentifies the number of seat belt-equipped seating positions. The Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC) labels on these vehicles state an incorrect number of belted positions, which can result in passengers traveling without proper restraints. Consequently, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, “Tire Selection and Rims.”
Which Products Are Affected
The recall affects approximately 340 units. The following models and years are included:
- 2025-2026 Tiffin GT1
- 2025-2026 Tiffin GH1
- 2026 Tiffin GH2
What You Should Do
Tiffin will mail corrected labels to affected owners free of charge. Notification letters are expected to be mailed by May 15, 2026. Owners may contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661 and reference recall number TIF-147. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will also be searchable on the NHTSA.gov website beginning May 15, 2026.
Why This Matters
Accurate labeling is critical for passenger safety. If a label incorrectly identifies seating positions, passengers may sit in areas not equipped with seat belts. Unbelted passengers may not be properly restrained during a crash, significantly increasing their risk of injury.
