17 Stories Furniture Recalls 14-Drawer Dressers Due to Tip-Over and Entrapment Hazards
Hong Kong Baojia International is recalling about 3,000 dressers sold on Wayfair that violate federal safety standards for stability, posing a risk of serious injury or death to children.
What Happened
Hong Kong Baojia International has issued a recall for approximately 3,000 units of 17 Stories Furniture 14-Drawer Dressers. The dressers are unstable if they are not anchored to a wall, posing significant tip-over and entrapment hazards. These units violate the mandatory safety standards for clothing storage units as required by the STURDY Act, which can result in serious injury or death, particularly to children. No injuries have been reported to date.
Which Products Are Affected
The recall involves 17 Stories Furniture 14-Drawer Dressers sold in black, white, and brown. The units feature a metal frame, a wooden top, and 14 collapsible fabric drawers. They measure 11.8 inches long by 37.4 inches wide by 52.2 inches tall.
The following model numbers are included in the recall:
- 55SCDR14KDBRDL
- 55SCDR14KDCHDL
- 55SCDR14KDPDL
- 55SCDR14KDWPVCDL
- 55SCDR14KDGDL
Model numbers can be found on the product’s packaging or within the order information in the consumer’s Wayfair account. These products were sold online at Wayfair.com from September 2023 through January 2026 for approximately $135.
What You Should Do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled dressers if they are not anchored to the wall and move them to an area that is inaccessible to children. To receive a full refund, consumers must contact Hong Kong Baojia International at Baojia_recall@outlook.com for instructions on how to identify and dispose of the affected units. Consumers will be required to submit a photo demonstrating the disposal of the product to the provided email address.
Why This Matters
Unsecured furniture poses a severe risk of tipping over onto children, which can lead to suffocation, internal injuries, or death. This recall ensures that products failing to meet the STURDY Act’s stability requirements are removed from homes to prevent future accidents.
