Tainoki Fine Furniture Recalls Office Chairs Due to Fall Hazard and Risk of Serious Injury

Product Recalls high CPSC · · United States

Tainoki Fine Furniture has recalled approximately 2,200 swivel office chairs sold at HomeGoods because the chair bases can bend, posing a fall hazard to users.

What Happened

Tainoki Fine Furniture has issued a voluntary recall for approximately 2,200 height-adjustable swivel office chairs. The recall was initiated because the chairs’ five-star chrome metal bases can bend during use. This structural failure poses a fall hazard and a risk of serious injury to the occupant. While no injuries have been reported to date, the company is advising all consumers to stop using the products immediately.

Which Products Are Affected

The recall involves three specific models of swivel office chairs designed for desk use. These chairs feature upholstered padded seats, backrests, headrests, and two padded armrests supported by chrome-finished metal bars. The model numbers are located on a label on the underside of the chair seat.

Affected Models and Colors:

  • Noah Office Chair (Model M7016O): Available in Cream, Jiffy, French Roast, and Black.
  • Owen Office Chair (Model M7004O): Available in Cream, Black, Merlin, Jiffy, and Wade.
  • Warren Office Chair (Model M7074O): Available in Taupe and Justin’s.

The chairs were sold at HomeGoods stores nationwide from August 2025 through December 2025 for between $180 and $200.

What You Should Do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled office chairs. To receive a full refund, owners must participate in the recall process by visiting https://www.tainoki.com/recall. Consumers will be required to submit photographs of the recalled chair, the model number label, and proof that the product has been destroyed.

Why This Matters

Structural defects in seating furniture can lead to sudden collapses. Because these chairs are used in environments where users may remain seated for extended periods, a bending base presents a significant risk of unexpected falls and associated physical trauma.
