Product Recalls high CPSC · · United States

Royal Oak Enterprises has recalled approximately 190,560 Flame Saber lighters because they lack child-resistant mechanisms and proper safety labeling, posing fire and burn risks.

What Happened

Royal Oak Enterprises is recalling its Flame Saber lighters because they fail to meet mandatory federal safety standards for multipurpose lighters. Specifically, the products lack required child-resistant mechanisms and do not include necessary safety labeling required by the Federal Hazardous Substances Act. These defects pose a significant risk of fire and burn injuries, which could lead to serious injury or death. No injuries have been reported to date.

Which Products Are Affected

The recall involves approximately 190,560 Royal Oak Flame Saber lighters. The lighters are red with a black-and-gray checkered grip and feature a hands-free operation lock. The “Royal Oak” logo is printed on the front of the lighter. Side labels include the warnings: “DANGER: Extremely Flammable, Content Under Pressure” and “WARNING: Only store in locked position.”

These units were sold for approximately $3 at Lowe’s, Home Depot, Tractor Supply, Rural King, and Ace Hardware stores nationwide, as well as online at their respective websites, from November 2023 through October 2025.

What You Should Do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled lighters and contact Royal Oak Enterprises for a full refund. To receive the refund, consumers will be provided with instructions on how to destroy the device and submit proof of destruction.
