Stoney Games Recalls Kluster Magnet Chess Games Due to Serious Ingestion Hazard
Stoney Games is recalling approximately 151,600 Kluster Fun Tabletop Magnet Chess Games because high-powered magnets pose a risk of serious injury or death if swallowed.
What Happened
Stoney Games has issued a recall for the Kluster Fun Tabletop Magnet Chess Games because they violate the mandatory federal safety standard for toys. The games contain loose, high-powered magnets that fit within the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s (CPSC) small parts cylinder, posing a severe ingestion hazard. If multiple magnets are swallowed, they can attract each other through intestinal walls, causing perforations, blockages, blood poisoning, and potentially death.
Which Products Are Affected
This recall affects approximately 151,600 units of the Kluster Fun Tabletop Magnet Chess Games.
- Product Details: The games include about 24 magnets (measuring approximately 0.5 to 1 inch wide and 0.3 to 0.4 inches high), an orange string, an instruction manual, and a black storage pouch with “Kluster” printed on the front.
- Packaging: The games were sold in either a black box with “Kluster” on the front or a white pouch with gameplay instructions on the back.
- Sales Period: The products were sold from October 2018 through September 2025 for between $2 and $15.
- Retailers: Sold at independent game shops nationwide and online at Klustermagnets.com, Amazon.com, and Etsy.com.
What You Should Do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled magnet games and take them away from children. Contact Stoney Games for instructions on how to safely dispose of the magnets and to receive free replacement magnets that are not considered small parts.
Consumers can contact Stoney Games at 800-362-0977 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, via email at klusterrecall@gmail.com, or online at www.klustermagnets.com/recall for more information.
Why This Matters
While no injuries have been reported, the magnets in these games pose a life-threatening risk to children if ingested. The recall ensures that these non-compliant high-powered magnets are removed from homes to prevent internal injuries or fatalities.
