Altec Industries Recalls 12,375 Vehicles for Incorrect Tire Pressure Labels
Altec Industries is recalling various 2023-2026 vehicle models because incorrect tire pressure ratings on certification labels could lead to underinflation and tire blowouts.
What Happened
Altec Industries, Inc. (Altec) has issued a recall for several vehicle models due to an error on the final stage certification label. The labels incorrectly state the low tire pressure rating, which could lead operators to underinflate the vehicle’s tires.
Which Products Are Affected
The recall affects approximately 12,375 units. The following Altec models from the 2023-2026 model years are included:
- Aerial Device
- Digger Derrick
- Pressure Digger
- Service Body
- Spray Truck
What You Should Do
Altec will inspect the affected vehicles and replace the incorrect certification labels free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by May 8, 2026. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. The official Altec recall number for this action is CSN-3294.
Why This Matters
Underinflating tires based on incorrect label information can result in the tires failing to meet the axle’s weight rating. This condition significantly increases the risk of a tire blowout or a vehicle crash, posing a serious safety hazard to operators and others on the road.
