Chrysler Recalls Over 450,000 Jeep and Ram Vehicles Due to Trailer Light and Brake Failure Risk
Chrysler is recalling approximately 456,287 vehicles because an improperly designed trailer tow module may cause trailer lights and brakes to fail, increasing crash risks.
What Happened
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) has issued a recall for several Jeep and Ram vehicle models due to an improperly designed trailer tow module. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), this defect can cause trailer lights to fail to illuminate and may lead to the total failure of trailer brakes.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by March 24, 2026. Additionally, Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on the NHTSA website starting February 10, 2026.
Why This Matters
Trailer brake lights and turn signals that do not illuminate reduce visibility to other drivers, while trailer brakes that fail to function properly significantly increase the risk of a crash.
