What Happened

Harley-Davidson Motor Company has issued a recall for certain RH1250S (Sportster S) motorcycles because the upper triple clamp may fracture. This defect involves the steering linkages and can lead to a sudden loss of vehicle control.

Which Products Are Affected

The recall affects approximately 9,401 units of the following models:

• Make/Model: Harley-Davidson RH1250S (Sportster S)
• Model Years: 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026

This recall (NHTSA Campaign Number 26V075000) expands upon a previous recall, number 25V590. Harley-Davidson’s internal reference number for this specific recall is 0191.

What You Should Do

Owners are advised to contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464 to arrange for a free inspection. Authorized dealers will replace the upper triple clamp as necessary at no cost to the owner.

Crucially, motorcycles that were previously repaired under recall 25V590 will still need to have this new remedy performed. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by February 19, 2026.
