Newmar Corporation is recalling 16 model year 2026 Freedom Aire motorhomes because the water tank heating pads may fail and cause a fire.
What Happened
Newmar Corporation (Newmar) has issued a recall for certain 2026 Freedom Aire motorhomes. The affected vehicles are equipped with a ThermaHeat Tank Pad, a freeze prevention heater for the water tank. According to the recall report, these heating pads may experience high electrical resistance and fail.
Which Products Are Affected
The recall involves a total of 16 units. The specific models affected are:
- Make: Newmar
- Model: Freedom Aire
- Model Year: 2026
- Component: ThermaHeat Tank Pad (Plumbing: Freeze Prevention Heater)
What You Should Do
Owners of the affected motorhomes should contact Newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300. Newmar has stated that dealers will install a new water tank heating pad free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be sent by mail on March 16, 2026. When contacting the manufacturer, owners may refer to Newmar’s recall number: 622 RSB.
