Newmar Recalls Bay Star and Bay Star Sport Motorhomes Due to Detaching Hood Stops
Newmar Corporation is recalling approximately 3,582 motorhomes because hood stops may detach during transit, creating a potential road hazard and increasing crash risks.
What Happened
Newmar Corporation (Newmar) has reported a safety defect involving the hood stop mounting adhesive on certain motorhomes. The adhesive may fail, which can allow the hood stop to detach from the vehicle while it is in transit.

This recall affects approximately 3,582 units. The specific models and years include:
- Manufacturer: Newmar Corporation
- Models: Bay Star and Bay Star Sport
- Model Years: 2018-2026

What You Should Do
Owners of the affected vehicles are encouraged to contact Newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300. Dealers will perform an inspection and reinstall the hood stop brackets free of charge. Official owner notification letters are expected to be mailed out by April 24, 2026.
