Triumph Motorcycles Recalls Over 8,800 Units Due to Fire and Crash Risk
Triumph Motorcycles America is recalling several 2022-2024 models because of a wiring short circuit that could lead to overheating, increasing the risk of fire or crashes.
What Happened
Triumph Motorcycles America, Ltd. has issued a recall for certain motorcycle models due to a defect in the electrical system. The wiring located between the alternator and the main harness connector may short circuit, leading to potential overheating of the electrical components.
Which Products Are Affected
Approximately 8,849 units are potentially affected by this recall. The specific models and years include:
- 2022-2024: Bonneville T100, Bonneville T120, and Bonneville T120 Black
- 2024: Bonneville T120 DGR
- 2022: Street Twin, Street Scrambler, Street Twin Goldline, and Street Scrambler Sandstor
- 2023-2024: Speed Twin 900 and Scrambler 900
What You Should Do
Owners of the affected motorcycles are advised to contact Triumph customer service at 1-678-854-2010. Triumph’s internal reference number for this recall is SRAN 641. The remedy for this issue is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on February 25, 2026.
Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on the NHTSA website starting February 19, 2026. Notably, motorcycles that were previously repaired under a separate recall (24V785) will still need to have this new remedy performed once it is available.
Why This Matters
The defect poses a significant safety hazard, as overheated wiring increases the risk of a vehicle fire or a crash while the motorcycle is in operation.
